The aim of this work stream is to work with empowerment leads in local authorities to explore the types of evidence that best support effective community and citizen empowerment, and how they feed into and support the Big Society agenda, and demonstrate citizen engagement in identifying, influencing and participating in service delivery in local areas. This will be through facilitated sessions and peer support to identify and develop toolkits and case studies.

Objectives include:

• Identify areas in the region that are struggling with their empowerment stratgegies and share effective practice through various methods.
